Yes. Both lodges are family-friendly and sleep up to twelve guests. Tebuah has four en-suite bedrooms plus two lofts in the family rooms, while Sithrah has five en-suite suites. The reserve is fenced and the lodges have private pools, but children must be supervised at all times, especially near the water and during game drives.

Unfortunately not. Mabalingwe Nature Reserve is a wildlife area and pets are not permitted inside the reserve, so we cannot accommodate dogs or other animals at either lodge.

Both lodges are let on a self-catering basis, giving you complete privacy and flexibility. Each kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware and a bean-to-cup coffee machine. Daily housekeeping is included, and a private chef or catering can be arranged on request with enough notice.

Both lodges have backup power systems to keep the lights, Wi-Fi and essential appliances running during scheduled power outages. Larger appliances such as the oven and geyser may be affected, so we recommend planning cooking around peak-shedding windows when possible.

Each lodge has a built-in braai area with wood supplied for your first fire. Both lodges also have a traditional boma firepit, perfect for evening drinks under the stars. Additional firewood can be purchased at the reserve gate or arranged in advance.

Guests must enter and exit via the Cyferfontein gate, which is open from 06:00 to 20:00. Please plan your arrival and departure within those hours. We do recommend arriving before dark if it is your first visit, as the internal roads are gravel and game moves freely after sunset.

Game drives in Mabalingwe's open viewing vehicle can be booked directly through the reserve reception. Alternatively, both Tebuah and Sithrah have their own dedicated open game-viewing vehicles available to hire at R1 500 per day (fuel excluded), so you can explore the reserve at your own pace.
